Grant an exception to the bidding requirements, as provided for by Section 3.32.090 of the Municipal Code, for Fiscal Year 2009-10; and 2. Approve the list of landscape and irrigation vendors and qualified service providers. Discussion: The Landscape Services Division of the Public Works Department and the Parks and Recreation Department utilize a variety of vendors and services regularly. The approval of the list will simplify the process to purchase and acquire the services needed. Both the Landscape Services Division and Parks and Recreation Department utilize the vendors and services listed because they offer immediate accessibility and/or wholesale/discounted pricing, or they are the only local source. This allows the City to save money and operate at a more efficient level. Staff has posted an invitation to potential vendors, who may apply throughout the year for next year's approval. This will be an annual approval process. Purchases and/or services valued at more than $25,000 will follow the standard procedure for procurement.
