Since the Senior Center is located on�ify=owne'�"pr`oper�y;�ze'"�"u'�ive"Direc�b�Peter Rittenhouse has requested City Council approval of the•sate, pvs�ses�sibrr;and�corrs�rrrptremrof-wine and/or spirits for Casino Night at the Senior Center orr•Octeber��9;-��F}a9:------ - -� ---- -- • - - City staff received the request for approval to sell, possess, and consume alcohol for the Senior Center Casino Night Event on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. However, the Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) requires that applications be signed by the property owner(the City) and submitted ten days prior to the event. The next City Council Meeting is not scheduled until October 22, which is less than the ten days required by ABC; therefore, staff is requesting City Council consideration at the October 8, 2009, meeting. Also, prior to the sale and consumption of alcohol on City-owned property, the City Council must grant a variance from the prohibition of same. Staff recommends that the City Council permit the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic beverages at the Joslyn Cove Senior Center. Submitted By: Approval: Franki id le J n M. This may bedone via a letter from the�f � local egency,or the official may sign directly on Form ABG221. "BEER GARDENS" Beer Garden restrictions may be placed on a daily license when the District AdminisVator detertnines there is a potential problem with the issuance of a Iicense without such restrictions or at the request of a local law enforcement agency. CONDITIONS: Issuance of the Iicense may be subject to condi[ions relating to the sales,service,and consumpfion of alcoholic beverages. If conditions are imposed,a representative of the organization may be required to come into the ABC office to sign them. If above requirements are not met, the one day lice�se may nat be approved.
