Executive Summary Approval of staff recommendation authorizes the City Clerk to file a notice of completion for the Desert Willow landscape improvements at the corner of Desert Willow Drive and Country Club Drive. Backqround On February 11, 2010, the Agency Board awarded contract R29260 in the amount of $103,409.95 to Earth Sculptures Inc. for the perimeter landscape of Desert Willow Drive and Country Club Drive. The southern portion of this property is being temporarily used for special event overflow parking for employees of Desert Springs Resort and Spa. The landscape improvements blend with the landscape along the west side of Desert Willow Drive leading into the Desert Willow Golf Resort. The perimeter landscaping and plant materials provide enhanced landscaped separation between the temporary parking area and surrounding streets. The plant palette is similar to the palette along the west side of Desert Willow Drive, with mounding and contours with boulders. Four landscaped pedestrian paths connect the parking area to the streets. A rustic wood, split rail-and-post fence separate the parking area from the landscaped area. Staff Report Authorize Notice of Completion Contract R29260 July 27, 2010 Page 2 of 2 The City's Landscape Services Division inspected the Landscape improvements on June 16, 2010 and determined that the work was satisfactorily completed. Therefore, staff recommends that the City Clerk be authorized to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder for the subject contract. Fiscal Analysis Funds for this project came from Fund 851-4388-433-4001. The Agency will pay the cost to maintain the improvements of approximately $15,000.00 per year until an ultimate disposition is determined. There will be no fiscal impact on the General Fund.
