Recommendation:
By Minute Motion, accept the work as complete and authorize the City
Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for Contract No. C29050, refurbish
tenant improvements at Parkview Office Complex, Suite 102.
Background:
On June 11, 2009, the City Council awarded Contract No. C29050 to Woodburn
Construction in the amount of $61,476 to refurbish the tenant improvements at the State
of California Rehabilitation, Suite 102 at the Parkview Office Complex. Subsequently, on
August 27, 2009 a change order in the amount of $3,487.18 was approved to address
the additional costs for the Gold Seal environmentally approved carpet that was chosen
by the tenant.
Staff along with the State of California has inspected the work performed by Woodburn
Construction and has found that the work is complete and in accordance with the
contract requirements. Staff recommends that the City Council, by Minute Motion,
accept the work as complete and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion
for Contract No. C29050.

Fiscal Analysis:
The State of California will reimburse the City for 100% of the contract cost commencing
with their April 2010 lease payment for a period of four years at an interest rate of 8%
per annum.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. That the interest or estate stated in paragraph 3 herein in the real property herein described is SOLELY
OWNED by the CITY OF PALM DESERT, MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, a political subdivision of the State of
California, and whose address is 73-510 FRED WARING DRIVE, PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA.
2. That the full name and address of the owner of said interest or estate is set forth in the preceding
paragraph.
3. That the nature of the title of the stated owner, as set forth in paragraph 1, is in Fee.
4. That on the 11th day of March 2010 a work of improvement described as Refurbish Tenant
Improvements at Parkview Office Complex suite 102 — Contract No. C29050 on the real property herein
described was completed.
5. That the name of the original contractor, if any, for said work of improvement was Woodburn
Construction, 111 W. Wistaria Avenue, Arcadia, CA 91007.
6. That the real property herein referred to is situated in the City of Palm Desert, County of Riverside,
State of California, and is described as Parkview Office Complex, suite 102, 73-720 Fred Waring Dr., Palm
Desert, California 92260.
