Fairview Street Santa Ana, CA 92704 DATE: October 14, 2010 CONTENTS: Amendment No. 1 Vicinity Map Recommendation By Minute Motion, approve Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. C29490 for Landscape Maintenance Area 2 to add the monthly maintenance of the bike path on Magnesia Falls between Deep Canyon and Cook Street in the amount of $4,760. Funds are available in General Fund Account No. 110-4614-453-3370, Repair/Maintenance Medians. Backqround On April 21, 2010, the City Clerk advertised and called for bids for Landscape Maintenance Area No. 2. On May 27, 2010, City Council awarded Contract No. C29490 to the lowest bidder, Pinnacle Landscape Company, Inc. Due to its location and limited usage, staff has been maintaining the bike path on Magnesia Falls between Deep Canyon and Cook Street on an as-need basis. However, staff has recently found that the usage of this bike path has increased. For this reason, staff asked Pinnacle Landscape to provide a cost estimate for the regular maintenance of the bike path. Pinnacle's price of $595 per month is consistent with the current price Staff Report Amend C29490 Landscape Maintenance Area 2 October 14, 2010 Page 2 of 3 of a comparable area (Via Cinta Median) and reflects the lower lever of service needed to adequately maintain the area. Fiscal Analysis On-going maintenance costs of $595 per month, from November 1, 2010 to June 30, 2010, will result in an addition of$4,760 to Contract No. C2940. The Consultant shall perform all work as necessary or required to complete the Professional Service Amendment items for a lump sum price agreed upon between the Consultant and the City of Palm Desert, otherwise referred to as Owner. Contract Time Extension N/A Days.
