Recommendation
By Minute Motion: Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion
for the Kitchen/Building Expansion Project located at the Desert Willow
Golf Resort (Contract No. R29450C).
Background
On July 27, 2010, the Agency Board awarded a contract to The Penta Building Group
for the 5,264 square foot expansion to the clubhouse at the Desert Willow Golf Resort.
The project scope included, but was not limited to the following components:
• A 5,264 square foot expansion to the kitchen/building at the east end of
clubhouse.
• Remodel of the existing lobby/bar area to accommodate an expanded bar area
with the relocation of two offices.
• Expansion of the lobby/ballroom hallway to eliminate the pinch point.
• Enclosure of the existing ballroom to reduce noise.
• Modification to the ballroom audio visual, window shading, and lighting.
• Creation of a secondary banquet lobby at east end of building.
The Kitchen/Building Expansion Project is complete and officially opened on January
14, 2011. All work included within Contract No. R29450C has been satisfactorily
completed, including all final inspections performed by all departments and agencies
that have jurisdiction. Staff recommends that the City Clerk be authorized to file a Notice
of Completion with the County Recorder.

Fiscal Analysis
The final project cost was $3,224,883.49 funded with Redevelopment funds. There is no
fiscal impact to the City's General Fund.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. That the interest or estate stated in paragraph 3 herein in the real property herein described is LEASED
by the CITY OF PALM DESERT, A PUBLIC BODY, CORPORATE AND POLITIC, a political subdivision of the
State of California, and whose address is 73-510 FRED WARING DRIVE, PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA.
2. That the full name and address of the owner of said interest or estate is set forth in the preceding
paragraph.
3. That the nature of the title of the stated owner, as set forth in paragraph 1, is in Fee.
4. That on the 25th day of January 2011, a work of improvement described as the Kitchen/Building
Expansion Project, Contract No. R29450C, on the real property herein described was completed.
5. That the name of the original contractor, if any, for said work of improvement was: The Penta Building
Group, 44-250 Monterey Avenue, Palm Desert, CA 92260.
6. That the real property herein referred to is situated in the City of Palm Desert, County of Riverside,
State of California, and is described as Desert Willow Golf Resort, 38-995 Desert Willow Drive, Palm
Desert, California 92260.
