Executive Summary The League of California Cities is holding its annual Planners Institute Conference for 2011 in Pasadena, California from March 9-11, 2011. Planning Commissioners Nancy De Luna and Connor Limont, as the two newest members of the Planning Commission (save for Roger Dash, who is not available to attend), have had only one opportunity between the two of them to participate in training such as this. A variety of topics will be discussed that will be of benefit to those in attendance and will allow them to enhance their skills and knowledge of the Planning Commission processes, zoning codes and their relationship to city planning, rules and regulations surrounding commissioners and roles and responsibilities therein. The two Planning Commissioners will attend the entire conference from March 9 — March 11, 2011. It will be held at the Hilton Pasadena. Fiscal Analysis Funds for the attendance of this conference will be shared by City Council/City Clerk -travel [NOT TO EXCEED $2500.001, and the Department of Community Staff Report Consent Calendar February 24, 2011 Page 2 of 2 Development travel accounts. The total cost of the conference for the Commissioners expected to be approximately $2,600.00. The breakdown of the cost is as follows: • Registration: $1020.00 • Lodging, including taxes and parking: $ 852.00 • Per diem for meals and incidentals: $ 356.00 • Mileage reimbursement: $ 240.00 • Approximate Total Cost: $2578.00 Funds are available in Account Nos. 110-4110-410-3121 and 110-4470-412-3115 and 110-4470-412-3120.
