Attending the Annual ICC/Educode Conference provides the opportunity for Mr. Terfehr to take classes to obtain the needed CEUs and to stay current on issues related to code enforcement while networking with other code enforcement professionals. This education opportunity will advance Mr. Terfehr's knowledge of codes and zoning issues. The registration fee for the conference is $600. The cost of the hotel is approximately $200 including tax, mileage for driving his personal vehicle to the workshop will total approximately $201, and meals will total $390. Consequently, the total cost to the City of Palm Desert will be no more than $1,500. Staff Report Authorize Out -of -State Travel for one Code Compliance Officer January 13, 2011 Page 2 of 2 Approval of attendance at this conference affords the opportunity to obtain the CEUs required for continued certification as a Code Compliance Officer. Many of the workshops available at Educode are not available from CACEO, however they are accepted by CACEO for required CEUs. Fiscal Analysis No additional funding is required to allow one Code Compliance Officer to attend the ICC Educode training. The funds are available in the approved budgets for Human Resources and Community Development. Prepared By: / 9 -1 Pedro Rodriguez Senior Code Compliance Officer Paul S.
