Wohlmuth, City Manager Date: January 13, 2011 Subject: INFORMATIONAL ITEM -CITY MANAGER MEETING SUMMARIES Following are meetings held with groups, residents, and/or businesses, for the period January 2-13, 2011: January 3 Desert Willow — Lakeview Hill Project Met with Public Works staff and Desert Willow Golf Resort (DWGR) staff to discuss design and temporary location of transition landscape by Lakeview Terrace project. Landscape staff will design in-house and construction will be DWGR staff, Public Works Landscape Division staff with some contractor assistance (such as boulder placement). January 4 Energy Meeting Discussed the Set -To -Save partnership, including the in -home surveys, the "one -stop" pool pump program, the FHFA lawsuit and hopefully legislative resolution, and the AB 811 Conference scheduled for March 3-4, 2011. January 4 Meeting with representatives from Rosewood Hotel Discussed timing of project consideration, Planning Commission/City Council, and financial feasibility (request for assistance). January 4 Coordination with Living Desert concerning City Council Retreat Final arrangements were made for the Council Retreat. January 6-7 Council Retreat Informational Item -City Manager Meeting Summaries Page Three January 13, 2011 January 12 Tom Flavin, CEO, CVEP Met with Mr. Tom Flavin, CVEP CEO, and Justin McCarthy, ACM, to discuss Palm Desert and CVEP priorities. January 13 Site visit — Section 29 Retention Basin (inspect/discuss undermined slope) Met with Manero Smith Engineers and Earth Sculptures engineers to analyze damage to retention basin and ideas to move forward with repair. January 13 Meeting with Historical Society representatives and Councilman Kroonen Historical Society asked City to look at lease agreement on the El Paseo Fire Station/Historical Society offices.
