Several deputies then loaded the bicycles in their units and gave them to children living in known low-income areas throughout our communities. The giving of two of the bicycles was captured by a citizen and submitted to the Desert Sun (see attached). As is evident by the attached photographs, not only did the children and parents enjoy this event, so did the officers who were able to participate in a program. This event allowed officers the opportunity to interact with the children and citizens and give back to the communities they serve under positive circumstances. Everyone involved and the generous donations received made "Shop with a Cop" a huge success because of the impact it made in these children's lives this holiday season, a memory that will not be forgotten.
