R30070) SUBMITTED BY: Martin Alvarez, Redevelopment Manager CONTRACTOR: Orr Builders 39301 Badger Street, Suite 300 Palm Desert, CA 92211 DATE: January 27, 2011 CONTENTS: Notice of Completion Recommendation By Minute Motion: Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the Palm Desert Visitor Center tenant improvement project located at 73-470 El Paseo, Suite 14 (Contract No. R30070). Background On September 9, 2010, the Agency Board awarded a contract to Orr Builders for the tenant improvements at the new Palm Desert Visitor Center located at 73-470 El Paseo, Suite 14. The tenant improvements are complete and the Visitor Center opened on December 9, 2010. All work included within Contract No. R30070 has been satisfactorily completed, including all final inspections performed by all departments and agencies that have jurisdiction. Staff recommends that the City Clerk be authorized to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder. The Visitor Center will have an Open House celebration on January 26, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. Staff Report Notice of Completion for the Visitor Center Tenant Improvements Contact No. R30070 January 27, 2011 Page 2 of 2 Fiscal Analysis The original project cost was $288,600.15. During the construction process value engineering was implemented, realizing a savings of $52,133.00. The final project cost was $236,467.15, funded with Redevelopment funds.
