HomeMy WebLinkAboutPalm Desert Chamber Fundraising Event February 9, 2011CITY OF PALM DESERT STAFF REPORT REQUEST: REQUEST FOR APPROVAL TO POSSESS AND CONSUME ALCOHOL IN CONNECTION WITH A FUNDRAISING EVENT AT THE HENDERSON COMMUNITY BUILDING, 72-559 HIGHWAY 111, ON FEBRUARY 9, 2011 SUBMITTED BY: Ruth Ann Moore, Economic Development Manager DATE: January 27, 2011 Recommendation By Minute Motion: Permit the possession and serving of alcohol in connection with a fundraising event at the Henderson Community Building, 72-559 Highway 111, to be held on February 9, 2011. Background At the Chamber of Commerce Installation Dinner last June, an auction was held to raise monies for the Chamber. One of the auction items was a taco party with margaritas to be held at the Chamber offices at the Henderson Community Building. The event is scheduled for February 9, 2011, and the chamber requests permission from the City Council to serve alcohol in connection with this event. The high bidder for the item was Burrtec and approximately 40 to 50 guests will be attending. Fiscal Analysis There is no fiscal impact from this request.
