Approve Streamlined Use of Vendors for the Special Programs Department for Solid Waste and Recycling and Special Events by Granting an Exception to the Bidding Requirements SUBMIITTED BY: Frankie Riddle, Director of Special Programs DATE: July 14, 2011 CONTENTS: Vendor List Recommendation By Minute Motion: Grant an exception to the bidding requirements for FY 2011/2012, as provided for by Section 3.32.090 of the Municipal Code; and 2. Approve the Special Programs/Events Vendor List. Discussion The Special Programs Department regularly utilizes a variety of vendors and services in order to successfully implement projects and programs for the department, including special events. Approval of the attached list will simplify the process to purchase and acquire the services necessary to accomplish this goal. The department utilizes vendors and services listed, as they offer immediate accessibility, specialized products, and/or wholesale/discounted pricing. Using these vendors allows staff to save money and time, operate at a more efficient level, and receive products in a more timely fashion.
