was completed in 1986; and
Whereas, Palm Desert High School reconstruction began in June
2008, with students returning to a new campus on August 29, 2011; and
Whereas, the Palm Desert High School Reconstruction Project
included the Administration Building, Library, Gymnasium, Performing
Arts Center, food service with covered lunch shelter, ASB/Student
Services building, and many new classrooms and labs; and
Whereas, Phase III is expected to be completed in August 2012
and will include new athletic fields.
Now, Therefore, I, Jean M. Benson, Mayor of the City of
Palm Desert, California, Do Hereby Proclaim Thursday, October 13, 2011,
as
Palm Desert High School Day
in the City of Palm Desert and urge all residents to join me in saluting
Palm Desert High School for providing over 25 years of outstanding
educational opportunities to students in our community.
