Recommendation
By Minute Motion, adopt the Categorical Exemption for the Highway 111
Resurfacing Project and authorize the Director of Public Works to execute
and file the Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk.
Background
At the December 8, 2011, City Council meeting, Council authorized the Director of Public
Works to submit an application for Proposition 1 B funds in the amount of $739,630 for the
Highway 111 Resurfacing Project. Because the project is partially funded by state funds,
the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) must be met. The
project will have no impact on the environment and, therefore, meets the criteria for a
Categorical Exemption. Attached are the CEQA Notice of Exemption Forms, and the
Project Location Map to be filed with the County Clerk.
Fiscal Analysis
Funds for the $64 filing fee are available in the project account: 110-4X1-433-3
