Subject: INFORMATIONAL ITEM — CITY MANAGER MEETING SUMMARIES
Following are meetings held with groups, residents, and/or businesses, for the period May 2 —
15, 2012:
May 2 Meeting with City Attorney
Weekly meeting with the City Attorney.
Conference call with Paul Wilcher
Mr. Wilcher represents Griffin Homes and purchased a home out of
foreclosure in the City of Palm Desert from Chase Bank. The home was
a blight on the neighborhood and Code and Griffin Homes abated the
blight. Staff and Griffin Homes successfully negotiated payment of the
work and lien penalties.
Meeting with Westman Development
Meeting John Westman, Michael Braun (Westman Development), and
Martin concerning Rancho San Pablo fagade. We agreed on the El
Paseo frontage fagade dollar amount and indicated that the back
improvements were not available in the fagade guidelines and fagade
dollars for the rear improvements were a policy issue only the Council
could approve.
Aquatic Center Monthly Meeting
Monthly meeting to discuss Aquatic Center operations, facility needs,
and budget with the YMCA and City staff.
May 3 Staff Meeting
Bi-weekly meeting to review City Council agenda.

Redevelopment Transition Team Meeting
Meeting to discuss implementation of eliminating RDA.
May 4 Meeting with Mayor Spiegel, Mayor Pro Tern Kroonen, and City
Attorney Erwin
Follow-up to Council direction and responses to community complaints.
Cinco de Mayo Barbecue at Corporation Yard
Attended the barbecue at the City's Corporation Yard.
May 7 Conference Call with Paul Wilcher, Griffin Residential
Conference call to discuss settlement of outstanding public nuisance
abatement fees due on property now owned by Griffin Residential.
Executive Management Meeting
Weekly meeting with department heads.
Meetina with Denise Harden, Riverside County, Anita Willis, Coun
Counsel. Alex Gann. Leticia DeLara, Bill Strausz, Justin McCarthy,
Paul Gibson, Janet Moore and Veronica Tapia
Meeting to discuss the impact of Trip Flip on sales and use tax owed by
the City of Palm Desert to the County and RAP.
Oversight Board Meeting
Held the third Oversight Board meeting. Primarily discussed properties
formerly held by RDA.
Coordination of Development Services Meeting
Monthly meeting to discuss coordination of services between Building
and Safety, Planning, and Public Works.
Conference Call with Paul Wilcher, Griffin Residential
Continuation of conference call to discuss settlement of outstanding
public nuisance abatement fees due on property now owned by Griffin
Residential.
May 8 Desert Willow President's Meeting
Monthly meeting to discuss April 2012 financials, golf course conditions,
and food and beverage operations.

Palm Desert Recreational Facilities Corporation Meeting
Attended the annual meeting of the Palm Desert Recreational Facilities
Corporation. Approved the budget and elected the Chair and Vice
Chair.
May 9 Meeting with City Attorney
Weekly meeting with the City Attorney.
Citizens' Sustainability Committee Meeting
Attended the Sustainability Committee meeting. Discussed de-
asphaltification, night skies, landscaping, and plastic bags.
Meeting with Human Resources Manager
Discussed recruitments and current human resources issues including
leaves.
Carlos Ortegas Villas Meeting
Met with Heather Buck and Martin Alvarez to discuss MOU on a block
wall/access issues with a neighboring property HOA.
May 10 Meeting with Blake Herzog, Desert Sun
Ms. Herzog is preparing an article on the impacts of elimination of RDA
and how a City moves forward with economic development strategies
without RDA.
City Council Meeting
May 11 Meeting with Mayor Spiegel, Mayor Pro Tem Kroonen, and City
Attorney Erwin
Follow-up to Council direction and responses to community complaints.
May 14 Executive Management Meeting
Weekly meeting with management team.
CVAG TAC Meeting
Attended this monthly meeting.
May 15 Meeting with Paul, Janet and Veronica
Met with staff and Bill Strausz, via conference call, concerning the
amount owed per 1992 Cooperative Agreement with Riverside County

Discussed the AB939 fee and how the fee is calculated.
