MINI -MUSTER
A Fire Safety Program
Each October since 1993, the Historical Society of Palm Desert has coordinated "MINI -MUSTER" afire safety
program for the Desert Sands Unified School District. The Riverside County Fire Station #33 directs the field
operations with the assistance of Station #55 and Volunteers from area stations.
Firefighters provide and operate "Hands On" team type field activities for third grade students of James Carter,
Gerald Ford, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, and George Washington Charter elementary schools. Children
participate on the field in the morning. Following lunch, the "Awards Assembly" convenes complete with Smokey
Bear.
The Historical Society is proud to announce that at the close of the 2012 Muster nearly 12,000 students will have
experienced this valuable training.
You are invited to attend any one or all of the five programs. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to
interact and deliver the fire prevention message to the children of the desert community. All Press, please wear
