Following are meetings held with groups, residents, and/or businesses for the period July 1
—August 9, 2013:
July 1 Executive Manaaement Meetina
Weekly meeting with the Management Team.
Follow Up Meetina for Strateaic Plan Staff Liaisons — Envision Palm
Desert
Worked with the National Civic League to finalize meeting dates and
Stakeholder Committee assignments.
Coordination of Development Services
Monthly meeting to discuss coordination of services between Building and
Safety, Planning, and Public Works.
July 2 Interview with Scott Hennesse (KPSP/KESQ) Repardina Increasina
Propertv Values
County of Riverside issued a press release stating that property values were
rising and cities would reap the benefit. I explained that the City receives
much more tax for the General Fund from sales taxes and TOT.
July 3 Meetin� with Councilmember Weber
Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.
Conference Call with Citv Staff and Blair Amidei Reqardin�t Martha's
Villaae & Kitchen 5K Race
Discussed the Thanksgiving EI Paseo 5K Run route with Martha's Village
and was provided information about Martha's Village marketing status and
route issues. Decided to modify staff's recommendation to Council.

July 8 Executive ManaQement Meetinq
Weekly meeting with the Management Team.
Citizens' Sustainabilitv Committee Meetinq
Attended the meeting where banning plastic bags, de-asphaltification, and
outdoor lighting were discussed.
July 9 Desert Willow President's Meetinq
Discussed the June 2013 revenues and expenses at Desert Willow Golf
Resort. Based on the numbers, closing the restaurant Monday, Tuesday, and
Wednesday was a good decision financially.
July 10 Meetinq with Craiq Allen
Mr. Allen has opened an auto repair business in Palm Desert and wanted the
City to be aware of his business.

Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.
Richard Kellv Memorial Adult Junior Open Meetinq at Desert Willow
The First Tee and Desert Willow are organizing the Richard Kelly Memorial
AdulUJunior Golf Tournament for September 2013.
July 11 Utilitv Underqroundinq Meetinq with Southern California Edison and
South Palm Desert Residents
Discussed the potential undergounding assessment district with Ms. Lesley
Miller, Ms. Merilee Colton, and Southern California Edison. The meeting was
extremely useful for cost of design, construction, schedule, and duration of a
project.

July 12 Meetinq with Councilman Tanner
Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.
Electric Charqin� Station Potential Sites Tour with Special Proctrams
Director Frankie Riddle
Toured the City for potential electric charging sites on private shopping
center parking lots. The City has remaining funds from a SCAQMD grant that
was not needed for the Civic Center charging stations to apply to a larger
parking lot charging station.

July 15 Executive Manaqement Meetinq
Weekly meeting with the Management Team.
Nexus Studv Meetinq
City staff is preparing a Nexus Study with the assistance of a consultant to
justify the AB939 Recycling Fee. The Nexus Study will be completed by the
end of the year.
Meetinq with Richard Balocco ReQardin� Future Plans for Land
Ad�acent to Desert ARC
Housing purchased land behind Desert ARC to enable expansion of Las
Serenas. Desert ARC requested to temporarily utilize the land. It appears the
arrangement would not neet Desert ARC's needs.
July 16 RDA Meetinq with Assemblvman Manuel Perez and Steve Szalav
Attended a meeting organized by Assemblyman Manuel Perez at CVAG to
enable the State Department of Finance (DOF) to answer some Successor
Agency questions.
July 17 Meetina with Councilmember Weber
Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.
July 18 Discussion of Hurdzan Proposal for Desert Willow
Met with Kemper Sports Management staff, Desert Willow Golf Resort staff,
and City staff to review a five-year plan developed by golf architect Hurdzan
to reduce turf and reduce costs through maintenance.
July 19 CVEP Meetinq with Mavor Jan Harnik Reqardinq IHUB in East Vallev
Attended a CVEP meeting to discuss an iHub in the East Valley. Indio,
Coachella, La Quinta, and Palm Desert representatives were present.
Meetinq with Mavor, Mavor Pro Tem, and Citv Attornev
Weekly meeting to discuss citizen concerns and address issues brought up
during the week.
Meetin�t with Ron Whited, Vice President of Operations for PGA Tour
Superstore
The PGA Tour Superstore is leasing 50,000 square feet of the old Mervyn's
building. Mr. Whited discussed their store and commitment to the community.

Meetinp with Councilman Tanner
Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.
Palm Desert Aquatic Center Committee Meetinq
Monthly Aquatic Center meeting to discuss the June revenues and
expenditures. Preparation of the end-of-year report has begun and will be
provided to Council within two months.
July 23 Audit, Investment & Finance Committee Meetinq
Attended the Audit, Investment & Finance Committee meeting.
Second Interview with Finalist for Assistant/Associate Planner Position
Interviewed the top candidate for the Associate Planner position.
Meetinq wifh Tim Ralston of UCR Reqardinct Land Transfer
The City and UCR Medical School are still working out issues related to the
land transfer in order to meet the requirements of UCR and DOF.
July 24 Meetin� with Councilmember Weber
Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.
July 25 Personnel Hearinq
Conducted a personnel hearing.
July 26 Personnel Hearinq
Concluded the personnel hearing.
Meetina with Mavor, Mavor Pro Tem, and Citv Attornev
Weekly meeting to discuss citizen concerns and address issues brought up
during the week.
Meetinq with Councilman Tanner
Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.

Aug 2 Meetinq with Citv Staff and YMCA Staff
Asked to meet with the YMCA regarding personnel action taken on Karen
Creasey, Aquatic Center Manager. Rob Ballew was not available, so staff
met with the YMCA Human Resources Manager.
Field Meeting with Landscape Manaaer Spencer Kni�ht — EI Paseo
Median from Portola to San Luis Rev
Spencer Knight and I reviewed the EI Paseo median landscape between
Portola and San Luis Rey to discuss plant material that would rejuvenate the
median.
Conference Call with Citv Staff, Citv Attornev, and UCR ReQardinq 2"d
Amendment to DDA
The City continues to discuss transfer language acceptable to UCR and the
City that meets the Department of Finance definition of government/public
purpose use.
Meetin� with Councilman Tanner
Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.
Conference Call with Attornev Reqardin� Personnel Hearinq
Held a personnel hearing as Hearing Officer. Discussed my role with my
attorney, Stefanie Vaudreuil, of Liebert Cassidy Whitmore.
Aug 5 Executive Manaqement Meetinq
Weekly meeting with the Management Team.
Coordination of Development Services
Monthly meeting to discuss coordination of services befinreen Building and
Safety, Planning, and Public Works.
Aug 6 Meetinq with Director of Communitv Development Reqardinq
Annexations
Discussed the Fiscal Impact Analysis with Lauri Aylaian and timing as well as
the staff report to give Council adequate time to digest the Analysis and
obtain comments from interested parties.
Aug 7 Meetin� with Councilmember Weber
Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.

Aug 8 SCE Business Customer Division Outaqe School
Edison personnel discussed outage protocol and customer safety.
Meetinq with Citv Staff and Representatives of CVB
Met with CVB CEO Scott White and CVB staff to discuss the collection of the
CVB 1% BID.
