Wohlmuth, City Manager DATE: February 14, 2013 Following are meetings held with groups, residents, and/or businesses for the period January 14 — February 1, 2013: Jan 14 Meetinq with Mark Greenwood Reqardina Public Works Deaartment Issues Discussed several complaint calls and planned a field trip to review the issues. Executive Mana�ement Meetin� Weekly meeting with the Management Team. CVAG TAC Meetinq Attended the CVAG TAC (City Manager) meeting. The most significant discussion related to a change in policy to advance fund transportation projects. Meetinq with Business Owner Mobarza Khan Ms. Khan expressed concerns about not being able to rent office space in certain Palm Desert business locations. Meetin� with Lauri Avlaian Re�ardina Budaet Issues Primarily discussed staff issues and expectations for the upcoming fiscal year. Jan 15 Parks & Recreation Commission Meetin�t Attended the City's Parks & Recreation Commission meeting. Discussion of Desert Willow Cash Flow for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 Finance staff and I met to discuss cash flow for Desert Willow and how Kemper Sports Management's requirement affects the City. Sullivan Discussed providing his contact information to the entire City Council. Desert Willow President's Meetin� Discussed the December 2012 revenues and expenses, the FY 2013/2014 budget process, the Coot issue, and methods to mitigate the Coot issue. Conference Call Re�ardina Starwood PAF Counter Have been working on a settlement agreement with Desert Willow Starwood HOA related to the calculation of the Project Amenity Fee (PAF). Jan 16 Meetin� with Mark Greenwood Discussed the process and timing for cleaning out the Joni Drive Corporation Yard. Cove Commission Meetina Attended the Cove Commission meeting. Primary discussion was the recruitment for a new Executive Director of the Joslyn Center and to include input from the Cove Commission members. Site Visit- Citv's Corporation Yard and Joni Drive Site Mark Greenwood, Carlos Hernandez, and I toured the old Corporation Yard at Joni Drive. Discovered that we are storing a lot of junk. Conference Call ReQardina Indian Sprin�s Mobile Home Park Discussed the Indian Springs Mobile Home Park settlement agreement with Successor Agency Counsel and City Attorney. Meetina with Frankie Riddle Reqardinq Relocation of Citizens on Patrol Citizens on Patrol (COPS) are being relocated from the Joni Corporation Yard to the Portola Community Center. Jan 17 Staff Meetina Bi-weekly meeting to review City Council Agenda. Redevelopment Transition Team Meetinst Developed the agenda for the February Oversight Board meeting. Discussion of Annual Citv Holidav Event Met with Donna Gomez, Ryan Stendell, and David Hermann to discuss how we can make the 2013 Christmas/Wreath Lighting Ceremony more exciting and better attended. Meetinu with Pam Newcomb and Lonnie Odom Met to discuss Successor Agency's needs and possibly refunding bonds. Jan 22 Meetins� with Resident Eddie Babai Mr. Babai expressed his concern about teens parking and drinking on the empty lot next to his home. By driving up a driveway adjacent to his driveway, cars are kicking rocks on his paved road. Audit. Investment & Finance Committee Meetina Attended the Audit, Investment & Finance Committee meeting. Executive Manaqement Meetinq Weekly meeting with the Management Team. Jan 23 Ixtapa-Zihuataneio Mavor Deleaation — Citv Deaartment Presentations and Luncheon Staff prepared a presentation for our guests from Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, then had lunch with our guests and members of the Sister Cities Committee. Meetinq with Citv Staff Reaardina Housinq Element and Reclassi�cation of Existinq Properties' Desianation Met with Planning staff about our Housing Element to determine if the City can meet both the RHNA requirements and the Housing/RDA Stipulation. Jan 24 Desert Recreation District Event Honorin�t Tom Genovese Mike Schuler. Steve Robbins, Marcie Hvman. Lucia Moran and Stanlev Sniff Attended an event in La Quinta honoring these six individuals and placing their plaques on the "Wall of Fame." Meetins� with National Civic Leaaue Rearesentatives Discussed the National Civic League's presentation to Council prior to the Study Session. Studv Session Res�ardina Strateaic Plan Attended the Study Session on the City's Strategic Plan by the National Civic League. Meetin� with Mark Greenwood Reaardina Public Works Department Issues Discussed Monterey Interchange improvements and R�W issues. Meetin� with Michael Mulcahev and Richard Balanco Re�ardin� Desert Arc's Solar Proiect Desert Arc wants to do solar improvements and energy efficiency improvements. Unfortunately, what they want to do does not meet our policy and criteria. Jan 28 Executive Manaaement Weekly meeting with the Management Team. Emplovee Trainina Seminar: "Workina in a Fishbowl" Attended the training seminar held by Cal JPIA. Aauatic Center Committee Meetina Received the final December revenues and expenses. Discussed the shade project and the timing system project. CVAG Executive Committee Attended the CVAG Executive Committee meeting with Mayor Harnik. Grand Openin� of Mitch's on EI Paseo Went to the Grand Opening of Mitch's, formerly Augusta's. Jan 29 Meetinq with Councilman Spieqel and Tom Noble Tom Noble expressed interest in former RDA land/Successor Agency land. Informed Mr. Noble of the dissolution process. Mr. Noble prepared a letter of interest on a particular parcel for consideration in several months. Emplovee Service Awards Luncheon Attended the Employee Service Awards luncheon. Meetins� with Brian Lord and Citv Staff Re�ardin� Palm Desert Tennis Club Perimeter Wall Palm Desert Tennis Club wishes to remove the wrought iron fence and Pyracantha and construct a block wall. Staff informed Palm Desert Tennis Club of the existing zoning ordinance.
