Wohlmuth, City Manager DATE: January 24, 2013 Following are meetings held with groups, residents, and/or businesses for the period January 1 — 11, 2013: Jan 3 Staff Meeting Biweekly meeting to review City Council Agenda. Jan 4 Jan 7 Meeting with Mary Lou Suter Reaardina Joslyn Center Mary Lou Suter is the former Executive Director of the Joslyn Center where the Board of Directors did not renew her one-year contract. We discussed Joslyn Center issues and conducted somewhat of an exit interview. Meeting with Mayor. Manor Pro Tem. and City Attorney Weekly meeting to discuss citizen concerns and address issues brought up during the week. Meetina with Dean Jandt and Mayor Harnik Regarding Palm Desert Pool and land Transfer Discussed the status and timing of the land exchange from Redevelopment to Cal State. Also discussed the future four-year classes beginning September 2013. Executive Management Meeting Weekly meeting with the Management Team. Meeting with Representatives of Comstock Homes Regarding Villa Portofino Comstock Homes is taking over the managing partner and builder of Villa Portofino from Family Development. Discussed housing products and new designs, the process for the change, and the park fees issue as well as the removal of the berm issue. The Oversight Board approved the RDA Due Diligence Report. Jan 8 Jan 9 Coordination of Development Services Monthly meeting to discuss coordination of services between Building and Safety, Planning, and Public Works. Dedication of 2013/2014 El Paseo Invitational Exhibition, Attended the dedication of the 2013/2014 El Paseo Art Invitation Exhibit at The Gardens on El Paseo. The Art in Public Places staff did a great job organizing the event. Cove Commission TAC Meeting The Cove Commission TAC met to set the Agenda for the Cove Commission meeting. Cove TAC is composed of the three City Managers, Police, Fire, and Joslyn Center. Meetina with Patricia Kwon (AQMD). Len Fein, and Frankie Riddle Reaardina CVAG Charger Installation SCAQMD is proposing to place a Level 2 charger at the Parkview Office Complex. One of the chargers will be for Supervisor John Benoit, and one charger is for guests of CVAG or other tenants. SCAQMD is paying for a majority of the improvements. Meetina with Desert Willow and City Staff Regarding Coot Depredation at Desert Willow Desert Willow has a significant coot problem around the lakes. Discussed methods to mitigate the coot problem. Housing Commission Meeting Attended the Housing Commission meeting. Conference Cali with Successor Agency Counsel and City Staff Regarding Starwood PAF The City and Desert Willow HOA (Starwood timeshare) owners are negotiating a settlement to the HOA claims. Staff Report Informational Item: City Manager Meeting Summaries (January 1-11, 2013) Page 3 January 24, 2013 Jan 10 Jan 11 Meeting with City Staff Regarding Cornishe Proiect The Cornishe developers did not complete a required water quality management plan process. The City is requiring full State and regional compliance before continuing. DVBA January Public Officials' Luncheon Attended the January DVBA luncheon where Mayor Harnik was the keynote speaker. City Council Joint Study Session with Planning Commission Regarding Housina Element Update City Council Meeting Meeting with Mayor. Mayor Pro Tem. and City Attorney, Weekly meeting to discuss citizen concerns and address issues brought up during the week. Grand Opening of Desert Hot Springs Community Health & Wellness Center (Boys & Girls Club) Attended the Desert Hot Springs Community Health & Wellness Center Grand Opening. A former Palm Desert employee, Rudy Acosta, was the Project Manager, and Palm Desert staff provided insight to the pool aspect of the facility. Submitted By: ohn M.
