Following are meetings held with groups, residents, and/or businesses for the period
June 17 - 28, 2013:
June 17 Tour of EI Paseo with Public Works Director and Landscape Manaqer
With the new proposal for holiday lights to be released, Mark, Spencer, and I
reviewed the dispersed canopy trees and palm tree clusters. Staff was
concerned about the minimum canopy trees on the east end of EI Paseo.
Executive Mana�ement Meetin�
Weekly meeting with the Management Team.
Meetin� with Dick Shalhoub and Citv Staff Re�ardin� Proposed
Chanaes to McDonald's in Palm Desert
Mr. Shalhoub and McDonald's representatives met with Councilmembers
and staff to discuss potential plans to modify the Palm Desert McDonald's on
Highway 111 with a drive-through window. The McDonald's representatives
indicated they will work with the Planning Department to submit an
application after discussing with the property owner.
June 18 Conference Call with Successor A�encv Counsel Bill Strausz and Citv
StafF Reqardin� Proposed Ballot Initiative to Reinstate Redevelopment
Discussed the re-establishing RDA issue with Bill Strausz to determine if he
has heard of the initiative and get his thoughts on Palm Desert's
participation.
June 19 Meetin� with Citv Finance StafF and Desert Willow Golf Resort General
Manas�er Rich Mo�tensen Re�ardin� Stand-Bv Golf Advance Deposit
Refund
Stand-By Golf advanced funds to Desert Willow that were not utilized.
Stand-By desired to reduce their deposit. Discussed appropriate method to
pay Stand-By Golf back.

Cont'd Meetinq with Councilmember Weber
Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.
Cove Communities Services Commission Meetina and Annual Awards
Recopnition Luncheon
The Cove Commission held its last meeting of the year and had a luncheon
and awards ceremony at the IW Club for public safety personnel.
Palm Desert Strates�ic Plan Conference Call
Worked with the National Civic League to discuss progress of the Strategic
Plan.
June 20 Staff Meetina
Bi-weekly meeting to review City Council Agenda.
Meeting with Public Works Director Mark Greenwood Regardina Sale of
Joni Coruoration Yard
The City is preparing the old Joni Yard for sale. Toured the Yard to view the
progress of the move and the condition of the Yard.
Meetin� with Citv Staff, Citv Attornev, Richard Close, and Anthonv
Rodri�uez Re�ardin� Rent Control
Continued to work on the rent control ordinance and settlements with Indian
Springs and Silver Spur Mobile Home communities.
Meetinq with Citv Staff, Vincent Yza�uirre (Deputv Director of Real
Estate. Countv of Riverside EDA), and Owners of Guthv-Renker
Buildin� at the Corner of Cook Street and Hovlev Lane Reuardin�
Temporary Relocation of Countv District Attornev's Office Durin�
Construction of East Countv Detention Center
The Eastern Riverside County District Attorney offices will be moving to the
Guthy-Renker building at Hovley Lane and Cook Street while the Indio Jail
and administrative buildings are remodeled. Since County EDA is attempting
to expedite the move, City staff provided guidance on improvements prior to
plan check.
Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce Installation & Outstandins�
Business Awards Dinner
Attended the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce Installation and Awards
Dinner. Finance Director Paul Gibson received the Excellent Community
Service award.

June 24 Executive Manaaement Meetina
Weekly meeting with the Management Team.
Oversis�ht Board Meetina
Attended the Palm Desert Oversight Board meeting. The Oversight Board
approved the Successor Agency Long Range Property Management Plan.
Aauatic Center Committee Meetina
Held the monthly Aquatic Center meeting. The YMCA is operating the
Aquatic Center admirably. Staff is forecasting that at fiscal year end, the City
will be above 55% cost recovery.
CVAG Executive Committee and General Assemblv Meetinas
Attended the CVAG Executive Committee and General Assembly at the
Classic Club. Mayor Jan Harnik was nominated and approved as CVAG
Vice Chair.
June 25 Audit, Investment 8� Finance Committee Meetina
Attended the Finance Committee meeting.
June 26 Meetins� With Citv Staff, Scott Wilson and Matt Johnson Reaardin� Old
Visitor Center Buildina/Propertv
The City and the buyer of the old Visitor Center are continuing to work on the
reciprocal access and lot line adjustments before sale is final.
Countv-Wide Citv ManaaQrs Meetina in Cabazon
The League of California Cities Division is attempting to have the City
Managers meet on a frequent basis. City Managers discussed our role.
Palm Desert Strateaic Plan Meetino
Held the third Strategic Plan meeting at Desert Willow. The National Civic
League began separating tables into the stakeholder committees.
June 27 Board of Realtors Meetina with Mavor Harnik and Public Works Director
Mark Greenwood
Attended the California Desert Board of Realtors meeting where Mayor
Harnik provided a presentation.
Meetins� with Councilman Tanner Reaardina Well Site for The Reserve
The Reserve is attempting to replace an obsolete well site in south Palm
Desert. Southwest Drilling and Pump is working with The Reserve and will
work with the Planning Department to find a location that works with City
zoning and The Reserve.

June 28 Le�islative Review Committee Meetin�
The Legislative Review Committee met to discuss legislation in Sacramento
and the Agua Caliente water dispute.
Meetin� with Mavor, Mavor Pro Tem, and Citv Attornev
Weekly meeting to discuss citizen concerns and address issues brought up
during the week.
Meetin� with Councilman Tanner
Weekly meeting to discuss City issues.
