Home My WebLink AboutFY 2013-14 - Vendors - DWGRREQUEST: SUBMITTED BY: DATE: CONTENTS: Recommendation CITY OF PALM DESERT STAFF REPORT AUTHORIZE THE USE OF NAMED VENDORS FOR PURPOSES OF PROVIDING RECURRING, ROUTINE SERVICES, SUPPLIES, AND MAINTENANCE TO THE DESERT WILLOW GOLF RESORT Martin Alvarez, Director of Economic Development June 27, 2013 2013-2014 Desert Willow Golf Resort Vendor List By Minute Motion: Authorize the use of vendors on the attached Desert Willow Golf Resort Vendor List for the purposes of providing recurring, routine services, supplies, and maintenance to the Desert Willow Golf Resort in the amount not to exceed $25,000 per vendor, for Fiscal Year 2013/2014, pursuant to Section 3.32.110 of the Palm Desert Municipal Code. Background Pursuant to Section 3.32.110 of the Municipal Code, the Desert Willow Golf Resort has the authority to obtain routine and recurring services, supplies, and maintenance by adopting a procedure approved by the City Manager. By creating the attached list, vendors may be utilized by the Desert Willow Golf Resort in order to provide routine, recurring services, supplies, and maintenance in an amount not to exceed $25,000 per vendor. As a responsibility to obtain the best prices, the Desert Willow Golf Resort routinely obtains bids depending on the type of supply, service, or maintenance to be completed. Bids are requested of local providers as well as outside the area to ensure competitive pricing. The list allows Desert Willow to operate efficiently, and respond promptly to guests providing the best possible customer service. The attached list supersedes all previous vendor lists and amendments. Generally, more than one provider has been listed to ensure availability and competitive pricing. Several service providers have a maximum per occurrence in order for recurring maintenance to be accomplished routinely and in a timely manner. The majority of the vendors have an established history of providing the Desert Willow Golf Resort with quality services/products at a competitive price. Staff will request changes to the list from time to time as is necessary to ensure quality, reliability, availability of service, supplies, and maintenance providers. Fiscal.Analvsis There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this action; however, absence of such a list could potentially result in a loss of revenue due to the timing constraints associated with bidding multiple routine maintenance items, and the potential impact to golf course play.
