Box 1058 Coachella, CA 92236 DATE: March 28, 2013 CONTENTS: Grant Deed Grant of Easement Vicinity Map Recommendation: By Minute Motion, authorize the Mayor to execute a Grant Deed and a Grant of Easement to Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) for the Freedom Park Well Site. Backqround: During the construction of Freedom Park, the City agreed to provide a well site to CVWD at the northwest corner of the park. The City has made improvements to the site including constructing a block wall surrounding the site, and constructing a small retention basin. Before CVWD accepts the site, the City must grant CVWD the parcel for the well site and easements to access the site. After granting the land and easement to CVWD, the City can submit plans to finalize the improvements; which include bringing electrical conduit to the well site, and extending a water line to the well site property. Those improvements will be brought before Council for approval at a future meeting and will be paid for out of funds deposited by the developer of the adjacent tract for the construction of the well site, and funds from the Park Facilities project account.
