Wohlmuth, City Manager DATE: October 24, 2013 Following are meetings held with groups, residents, and/or businesses for the period September 30 — October 11, 2013: Sep 30 Executive Manaqement Meetinq Weekly meeting with the Management Team. Oversi�ht Board A�enda Review Prepared the Oversight Board Agenda for the October 7 meeting. CVAG Executive Committee Meetins� Attended the CVAG Executive Committee meeting. Oct 1 Parks � Recreation Commission Meeting Attended the Parks & Recreation Commission meeting. Meetins� with Rob Reinha�en and Other Reuresentatives of California Ballet/Opera Regardin�t Their Location at Country Club and Washin�ton The California BaIIeUOpera business is moving from Indio to Palm Desert (Country Club near Washington Street). The Municipal Code requires a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to allow Planning to review for adequate parking. The potential delay to obtain a CUP creates challenges for the California Ballet/Opera business. Meetina with Darvl Kent and John McConnell of Montecito Homeowners Association The Montecito HOA expressed concerns regarding landscape and wall maintenance between the homes and Desert Willow Golf Resort. The City is working with the HOA on the wall maintenance, and Spencer Knight and Mike Tellier are working on the landscape improvements. With the assistance of the City Attorney and Mark Greenwood, developed a way to move forward, to the satisfaction of all. Strate�ic Planninct Meetinq Attended the October Strategic Planning meeting. Based on the comments received by the participant volunteers, the meeting was productive, and good ideas/good work was obtained. Oct 3 Staff Meetin� Bi-weekly meeting to review City Council Agenda. Meetin� with Rich Mogensen and 011ie Becker Re�ardin� Desert Willow Golf Resort With the resignation of Rich Mogensen, City Staff continued to coordinate with Kemper Sports Management to make for a smooth transition and prepare for the opening of the golf season. Meetina with Housina Director Janet Moore, Special Proarams Director Frankie Riddle, and Countv of Riverside Representatives Re�ardin� Consortium for HOME Funds Riverside County Economic Development/Housing Staff explained the Federal HOME program and funds, requesting for the City's participation in a County-wide consortium. Meetina with Dr. William Kroonen Dr. Kroonen asked for an update on the transfer of land from the Successor Agency to UCR/Medical School and what control the City would have. Oct 4 Meetin� with Mavor Harnik. Councilman Tanner, and Citv Attornev Weekly meeting to discuss citizen concerns and address issues brought up during the week. Meetin� with Marriott Courtvard General Mana�er Jonathan Kennedv Discussed the impact of the American Heat ride on Palm Desert. Volunteer Coordination Team Meetin� Initiated the Volunteer Coordination Team and discussed strategies to coordinate volunteer management, volunteer recognition, and enhancing volunteerism in Palm Desert. Oversiqht Board Meetin� Attended the Oversight Board meeting. Monthlv Status Meetinq with Rearesentatives of UCR Discussed modifications to the DDA and the transfer of the 11.5 acres. Coordination of Development Services Meetin� Received the status of the One Solution implementation. Oct 8 Desert Willow President's Meetinq Reviewed the September 2013 Desert Willow Golf Resort expenditures and revenues. Meetina with Chuck Spiker of Siemens Discussed the energy survey of Desert Willow Golf Resort with Mr. Spiker of Siemens. Meetinct with Representatives of Sister Cities Foundation Discussed the accountability of the $25,000 Sister Cities donation for post-hurricane assistance in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. Oct 9 Meetina at Desert Willow Golf Resort_Reaardin� Richard Kellv Memorial Adult/Junior Golf Tournament Reviewed the donation amount for the Richard Kelly Memorial Adult/Junior Golf Tournament benefiting the First Tee of the Coachella Valley. Meetinq with Councilmember Weber Weekly meeting to discuss City issues. Public Safetv Commission Meetinq Attended the Public Safety Commission meeting and heard the presentation on Unmanned Aerial Systems.
