Wohlmuth, City Manager DATE: September 12, 2013 Following are meetings held with groups, residents, and/or businesses for the period August 12 - 30, 2013: Aug 12 Executive Management Meeting Weekly meeting with the Management Team. Aug 13 Desert Willow President's Meeting Held the monthly meeting between City staff and Kemper Sports Management staff to review the July 2013 financials/capital projects and develop maintenance protocols to reduce maintenance costs. Meeting with Representatives of Montecito Homeowners Association and Citv Staff Discussed maintenance of the wrought iron fence and landscape maintenance on desert areas surrounding Montecito homes. Prioritization of RDA Bond Proceeds Met with staff to discuss projects in the bond covenants to prioritize projects and revise cost estimates. Balanced the available funds with potential projects. Aug 14 Meeting with Councilmember Weber Weekly meeting to discuss City issues. Aug 15 Staff Meeting Bi-weekly meeting to review City Council Agenda. Meeting with Economic Development Director Martin Alvarez and Tourism & Marketing Manager Donna Gomez Regarding CVB Discussed the CVB co-op projects and overall marketing strategy for the CVB. Aug 19 Executive Management Meeting Weekly meeting with the Management Team. Meetina with Mayor Harnik and Dan Horn Reaardina Housing Discussed Palm Desert Housing Authority projects, and Mr. Horn provided City with concepts of possible additional funding. Aug 21 Meetina with Councilmember Weber Weekly meeting to discuss City issues. Meetina with Bob Roark Met with Bob Roark to review an update on funding for Rosewood Hotel. Aug 22 Conference CaII with Attorney Reaardina Personnel Hearing Discussed the Appeal Hearing Officer/City Manager findings for the personnel hearing. City Council Study_ Session Reaardina Successor Aaencv-Bonded Proiects Discussed the bond covenants, prioritization of projects, and allocated bond proceeds for projects. City Council Meeting Aug 23 Meetina with City Staff Reaardina Burrtec Discussed City Council direction regarding rate increases and commercial recycling rates. Aug 26 Executive Management Meeting Weekly meeting with the Management Team. Oversiaht Board Agenda Review Prepared the Oversight Board Agenda for the September 10 meeting. Palm Desert Aauatic Center Committee Meeting Discussed the July 2013 revenues and expenditures and timeline for the end of the year report. SCE High Sierra Workshop at Edison's Big Creek San Joaquin River Hydroelectric Proiect Attended the Southern California Edison High Sierra Workshop to learn how Edison generates cost-effective power from water and their hydra facilities. Meeting with City Staff Regarding Presidents Plaza I Property and Business Improvement District (PBID1 With the property owners' rejection of the PBID, discussed options for moving forward and the current fund balance in the Presidents Plaza PBID. Legislative Review Committee Meeting Discussed many State Legislature bills and made several recommendations to the City Council for action. Meeting with Mayor. Mayor Pro Tem. and City Attorney Weekly meeting to discuss citizen concerns and address issues brought up during the week. Meetina with Lee Vanderbeck, Executive Director of Joslyn Center Discussed the status of the Joslyn Board and funding as well as how the Cove Commission functions. Meeting with Mayor and City Staff Regarding Proposed Sculpture Symposium The Art in Public Places division discussed a special event that would bring artists and visitors to the Valley.
