Councilmember Harnik noted that some time ago Pat Scully, formerly with Mary Bono Mack's office, provided information to the Youth Committee on the legislative process. She indicated that Ms. Scully asked her to convey to the Youth Committee that there are opportunities for internships working on Brian Nestande's Congressional campaign. Councilmember Harnik added that interning it is a good way to obtain class credits and letters of recommendation for college applications. She asked all those interested to contact Ms. Lawrence for more information. Ms. Lawrence noted that she would gladly provide members with Ms. Scully's contact information as well as contact information for a representative of any other person running for office that members would be interested in assisting. 3 MINUTES PALM DESERT YOUTH COMMITTEE MARCH 3, 2014 B. COMMITTEE MEMBERS 1. Youth/Senior Technology Day Follow-up Chair Mehta relayed that the event went very weli regardless of the low number of senior attendees. Ms. Lawrence agreed that the event was well received and that although members only assisted a few seniors, those seniors will benefit from the Youth Committee's assistance. She suggested that members continue with this event in the years to come. 2. Car Wash Fundraiser Member D. Sandoval-Heglund noted that members of the car wash subcommittee agreed that the best time to meet and go over details of the event would be Friday, March 7, around 3:15 p.m. Ms. Lawrence noted that she would reserve a conference room and send out a reminder via email to those members serving on the subcommittee. 3.
