Recommendation
By Minute Motion:
1. Approve Contract No. C30802, a one-year extension with All Seasons
Landscape & Design, Inc., for Landscape Maintenance Area No. 19, in
the amount of$38,052;
2. Include repair work and services at the specified contract amount not
to exceed 20 percent of contract amount or $7,610; and
3. Authorize the Mayor to execute the contract.
Funds are available in the Account No. 703-4388-433-4001, RDA Successor
Agency/Capital Outlay.
Backqround
The subject contract was awarded by City Council to All Seasons Landscape & Design
of Cherry Valley, California, on May 26, 2011. This contract includes the monthly

maintenance services to the Larkspur Lot and lower Desert Willow Temporary Parking
Lot, which are owned by the Successor Agency to the Palm Desert Redevelopment
Agency and require prevailing wage payments.
The original term of the agreement with All Seasons Landscape & Design, Inc., was for
a term of twenty-four months, with an option for two, one-year extensions. The first
option for extension was exercised for Fiscal Year 2013-14, and All Seasons Landscape
& Design has agreed to the second one-year extension of contract commencing July 1,
2014, and expiring June 30, 2015, at the current contract price of $38,052 with no cost
increase. All Seasons Landscape & Design's perFormance has met City standards;
however, this is the last option to extend the agreement and the contract will go out for
bid again next year.
Repair work and services covers unquantifiable activities necessary for landscape
maintenance, which are not part of the landscape maintenance contract. This repair
work and services includes, but is not limited to, repair and replacement of irrigation
equipment; repair, maintenance and replacement of lighting equipment; emergency tree
work; replacement of trees and shrubs; pest control; and accident and vandalism repair
and replacement.
Fiscal Analysis
This is an on-going maintenance activity with no fiscal impact beyond the contract
amount. Funds for the maintenance of these two properties is available from the
Successor Agency to the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency Recognized Obligation
Schedule.

SECOND AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Palm Desert ("City") and All Seasons Landscape & Design,
Inc., ("Contractor"), entered into an agreement, dated June 23, 2011, to provide landscape
maintenance services for Landscape Maintenance Area No. 19 ("Agreement"), the parties
wish to amend the Agreement effective June 12, 2014.
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:
A. Term is amended to add the following paragraph to the end of the existing section, as
amended.
"The term of this Agreement is extended, and shall include the time period from July 1,
2014, through June 30, 2015."
B. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement shall remain unchanged, and shall
remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this instrument to be
executed the 12'h day of June, 2014.
