REQUEST: AUTHORIZE THE SOLICITATION OF PROPOSALS FOR THE
DESIGN/ BUILD OF NEW MONUMENT SIGNS AT ONE QUAIL
PLACE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000
SUBMITTED BY: MISSY WIGHTMAN, PROJECT COORDINATOR

CONTENTS: SITE PHOTOS
Recommendation:
By Minute Motion, that the Authority Board authorize the solicitation of
proposals for the design/build of new monument signs at One Quail Place to
provide site identification in an amount not-to-exceed $50,000.
Executive Summarv:
Approval of this request will allow staff to solicit design/ build proposals for construction of
new monument signs for One Quail Place. These signs will provide identification to the site
to replace existing signs that are damaged, dated, and inadequate.
Discussion:
One Quail Place is a large multi-family residential complex that covers approximately
eighteen (18) acres. This gated multi-family property contains three hundred eighty four
(384) units currently owned by the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency.
Currently, signage for the site is inadequate, dilapidated, over twenty(20)years old, and to
the point of falling apart. The Housing Authority, the operator of the property, would like to
keep signage low profile, but this underdeveloped signage sits in a poor location for the
high paced traffic that travels down Fred Waring Drive. Signage to the back entrance of the
site was damaged by weather and ultimately removed for safety reasons.
The Authority visualizes placement for three (3) monument signs, one on each side of the
Fred Waring Drive entrance, and one centrally located on the back entrance median island
of Park View. Current site photos are attached to this document illustrating the current
signage, as well as the proposed possible locations for the new signage. New signage
