A. REQUEST FOR ADOPTION OF RESOLUTIONS OF THE PALM DESERT
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND PALM DESERT HOUSING
AUTHORITY, AMENDING THEIR FISCAL YEAR 2009-10 BUDGETS
(JOINT CONSIDERATION WITH THE PALM DESERT REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY).
Rec: Waive further reading and adopt:
1) Resolution No. 571, amending the Fiscal Year 2009-10 Budget
as a result of Mid-Year Adjustments;
2) Resolution No. HA-42, amending the Fiscal Year 2009-10
Budget as a result of Mid-Year Adjustments.

VIII. OLD BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION TO NEGOTIATE AND FINALIZE A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR ARCHITECTURAL
SERVICES FOR THE CARLOS ORTEGA VILLAS (CONTRACT NO.
R29410A) (JOINT CONSIDERATION WITH THE PALM DESERT
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY).
Rec: By Minute Motion:
1) Authorize staff to negotiate and finalize a Professional
Services Agreement, Contract No. R29410A, substantially as
to form with Interactive Design Inc., Palm Springs, California,
for architectural services for the Carlos Ortega Villas in an
amount not to exceed $734,450 along with reimbursable
expenses in an amount not to exceed $36,722;
2) Authorize the Director of Finance to establish a contingency in
an amount not to exceed $75,000 for the purpose of design
modification and investigation/implementation of energy
efficiency/sustainability measures not identified at the time of
contract execution (use of contingency requires additional
Agency action);
3) Authorize the Chairman to sign and the Executive Director to
implement the Agreement.
Funds are available in the Palm Desert Housing Authority Capital
Budget for the Carlos Ortega Villas, Account No. 871-8691-466-4001.

Any person wishing to discuss any item not scheduled for public hearing may address the
City Council, Redevelopment Agency, or Housing Authority Boards at this point by stepping
to the lectern and giving his/her name and address for the record. Remarks shall be limited
to a maximum of three minutes unless additional time is authorized by the City Council,
Redevelopment Agency, or Housing Authority Boards. Because the Brown Act does not
allow the City Council, Redevelopment Agency, or Housing Authority Boards to take action
on items not on the Agenda, members will not enter into discussion with speakers but will
instead refer the matter to staff for report and recommendation at a future City Council,
Redevelopment Agency, or Housing Authority meeting.
XII. ADJOURNMENT
