III. CONSENT CALENDAR ALL MATTERS LISTED ON THE CONSENT CALENDAR ARE CONSIDERED TO BE ROUTINE AND WILL BE ENACTED BY ONE ROLL CALL VOTE. THERE WILL BE NO SEPARATE DISCUSSION OF THESE ITEMS UNLESS MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OR AUDIENCE REQUEST SPECIFIC ITEMS BE REMOVED FROM THE CONSENT CALENDAR FOR SEPARATE DISCUSSION AND ACTION UNDER SECTION XI, CONSENT ITEMS HELD OVER, OF THE AGENDA. A. MINUTES of the Housing Authority Meeting of June 24, 2010. Rec: Approve as presented. Action: IV. CONSENT ITEMS HELD OVER V. RESOLUTIONS None POSTED AGENDA PALM DESERT HOUSING AUTHORITY MEETING JULY 8, 2010 VI. NEW BUSINESS A. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR A CLIMATE SHOWCASE COMMUNITIES GRANT OFFERED BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY IN THE AMOUNT OF $500,000 AND TO ALLOW THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AS THE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE FOR THIS PURPOSE (JOINT CONSIDERATION WITH THE PALM DESERT CITY COUNCIL AND THE PALM DESERT REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY). Rec: By Minute Motion, authorize staff to submit an application for a Climate Showcase Communities Grant offered by the Environmental Protection Agency in the amount of $500,000 and to allow the City Manager to sign as the authorized representative. Action: B. REQUEST FOR AWARD OF CONTRACT TO PINNACLE LANDSCAPE COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $255,444 FOR ANNUAL LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SERVICES AT 13 HOUSING AUTHORITY PROPERTIES (CONTRACT NO. HA29820). Rec: By Minute Motion, authorize: 1) Award of the subject contract to Pinnacle Landscape Company, Santa Ana, California, in the amount of $255,444 plus the extra work pricing schedule for Annual Landscape Maintenance Services for 13 Housing Authority Properties; 2) Executive Director to finalize and the Chairman to execute said contract and any documents necessary to facilitate the contract award and implementation - funds are available in the respective Contract Services Accounts in the 2010-2011 Housing Authority Operating Budget. REPORTS, REMARKS, AND AGENCY BOARD ITEMS REQUIRING ACTION A. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR B. AUTHORITY COUNSEL C. CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE AUTHORITY XI. ORAL COMMUNICATION – C Any person wishing to discuss any item not scheduled for public hearing may address the City Council, Redevelopment Agency, or Housing Authority Boards at this point by stepping to the lectern and giving his/her name and address for the record. Remarks shall be limited to a maximum of three minutes unless additional time is authorized by the City Council, Redevelopment Agency, or Housing Authority Boards. Because the Brown Act does not allow the City Council, Redevelopment Agency, or Housing Authority Boards to take action on items not on the Agenda, members will not enter into discussion with speakers but will instead refer the matter to staff for report and recommendation at a future City Council, Redevelopment Agency, or Housing Authority meeting. XII.
