HA36680 STAFF REPORT PALM DESERT HOUSING AUTHORITY HOUSING DEPARTMENT MEETING DATE: May 10, 2018 PREPARED BY: Jessica Gonzales, Senior Management Anal REQUEST: Accept the work as complete for Contra No. HA36680 with Garland/DBS, Inc., for the Leasing Office Building Roof Restoration Project at One Quail Place Apartments Recommendation By Minute Motion, that the Authority Board, 1) Accept the work as complete for Contract No. HA36680 with Garland/DBS, Inc., for the Leasing Office Building Roof Restoration Project at One Quail Place Apartments ("Project"); and 2) Authorize the Authority Secretary to file a Notice of Completion for the Project. Housing Commission Recommendation The Housing Commission will review this recommendation at its regular meeting of May 9, 2018. Upon request, a verbal report will be provided at the Authority's regular meeting of May 10, 2018. Strategic Plan This request does not apply to a specific strategic plan goal. Background Analysis On January 11, 2018, the Palm Desert Housing Authority Board authorized the award of Contract No. HA36680 to Garland/DBS, Inc. ("Garland") for the Leasing Office Building Roof Restoration Project at One Quail Place Apartments. The Notice to Proceed was issued on March 27, 2018. All contract work has been satisfactorily completed and final inspections have been conducted by all City of Palm Desert departments and the Authority's property management. Staff requests that the Authority Secretary be authorized to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder as acceptance that Contractor has completed all work.
