REVISED PROPOSAL 08 FROM COMMERCIAL DIVERSIFIED, INC. Recommendation: By Minute Motion, that the Agency Board: 1. Approve Construction Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $8,707.70 ratifying approval of Proposal 01 in the amount of $1,908.90 and Proposal 08 in the amount of $6,798.80 with no time extensions to Commercial Diversified, Inc. 2. Authorize Finance Director to move $8,707.70 from contingency to base for the subject change order. Discussion: On January 27, 2005, the Agency Board awarded Contract No. R23070 to Commercial Diversified, Inc., for the construction of a 2,982 square foot community room serving the Pueblos and Catalina Gardens Apartments. During construction, the Contractor unexpectedly encountered water and electric lines from Joslyn Senior Center requiring the services of a utility detection company to Staff Report Approve Construction Change Order No. 1 to Commercial Diversified, Inc., Construction (Contract No. R23070) Page 2 of 2 July 14, 2005 determine their locations on the site. The Contractor also incurred additional equipment rental cost. Proposal 01, as revised, in the amount of $1,908.90 is for this additional work. The project site has a 12 x 36 concrete block building that requires demolition and removal before the project is completed. Proposal 08, as revised, in the amount of $6,798.80 is for this additional task, which was not part of the subject contract. The cumulative cost of these changes is to increase the contract amount by $8,707.70 with no addition to the contract time.
