Staff Report Withdrawal and Substitution of Subcontractors (Contract No. R21780) Page 2 May 26, 2005 Executive Summarv: Approval of the subject Substitutions of Subcontractor will allow construction of the Palm Village Apartments to continue uninterrupted. Rejection of staffs' recommendation may delay construction currently underway. Discussion: The subject Contract No. R21780 was awarded on January 27, 2005, to Taylor Frager, Inc., for the Palm Village Apartments. Notice to Proceed was issued on April 15, 2005, to commence work on April 25, 2005. Construction has commenced on the 36-unit project. Taylor Frager, Inc., as part of their Information Required of Bidder document, listed the following subcontractors who are now requesting to be withdrawn from the subject project: Diversified Openings 1130 East Locust Street Ontario, CA 91761 (Work to be performed: Doors, frames, hardware, and vinyl windows.) The Works Floor & Wall 36-660 Cathedral Canyon Drive Cathedral City, CA 92234 (Work to be performed: Flooring, ceramic tile.) In accordance with California Public Contract Code 4107, written notice has been given to the above subcontractors to be withdrawn from the subject project.
