Funds for this work are available in Account No. 850-4358- 433-4001. Executive Summary: By approval of the staff recommendation, the Agency Board will ratify Contract Amendment No. 1 approved and executed by the Agency's Executive Director under the authority granted him by the Palm Desert Municipal Code. The consultant will provide additional testing and inspection services necessary for construction of the Henderson Community Building. Discussion: Earth Systems Southwest was selected from the 2006 Consultants Master List approved for professional services work on January 12, 2006, and their agreement for soils and materials testing was ratified on July 13, 2006. During construction of the Henderson Community Building, two necessary changes required additional time and services of Earth Systems Southwest. Staff has incorporated both into one contract amendment. The first change is additional time required for testing and inspection services of grading and compaction requirements. The second change is for the time of the Earth Systems Southwest representative required to attend a meeting to resolve a technical grading issue that affected the Henderson Community Building. The consultant shall perform all work as necessary or required to complete the Professional Service Amendment items for a lump sum price agreed upon between the Consultant and the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency, otherwise referred to as Owner.
