Ortega, City Manager Date: February 23, 2006 Subject:: EMPLOYEES TO BE RECOGNIZED IN FEBRUARY Attached is a list of employees who will be recognized at the City Council meeting on February 23, 2006. A letter has been sent to each recipient congratulating them and requesting their attendance. Each one will be recognized for their own individual achievement and a gift card will be awarded to them. TEGA City Manager CLO:kr Attachment Employee Mike Brown Kristie Garcia Nominated by Reason for Recognition Mark Greenwood For Improving the City's Image in successfully resolving a resident complaint of large quantities of mud that had settled in the street directly in front of the home on December 30. Kristie received the call, and although the cleanup was the responsibility of another agency, because of the holiday weekend, Kristy contacted Mike Brown in the field and explained the situation. Mike used the resources of a nearby water truck and personally hosed down the street. The resident called the City to express appreciation for the quick response, thus enhancing the City's image. Ed Gallardo Page Garner For Meritorious Service Above and Beyond, and Cost - Sergio Rosas Savings in uncovering a survey monument which had Gil Salcedo inadvertently been paved over during last year's resurfacing project. The City had contracted with a company to perform a citywide benchmark leveling and high order GPS survey, and without this crucial monument the survey crew would not have been able to complete their job. They worked through the night to uncover the monument thereby allowing the contractor to complete the job. Hart Ponder Letter from Chamber For Strong Support and Assistance with the Palm Sergio Rosas Desert Golf Cart Parade. The City received a letter from the Chamber commending them for working with the committee throughout the planning process and providing assistance the day of the event. Mark Diercks Mark Greenwood For Improved City Image in the management and quick response in the removal of a tree that was obstructing a stop sign. A segment of the December 26, 2005 Desert Sun article stated, "Palm Desert's Public Works Department moves so fast it might make your head spin."
