REQUEST: APPROVAL FOR OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL FOR ASSISTANT CITY
MANAGER/REDEVELOPMENT AND DIRECTOR OF
REDEVELOPMENT/HOUSING

Recommendation:
By Minute Motion, that the Agency Board approve out-of-state travel for the
Assistant City Manager for Redevelopment and the Director of
Redevelopment/Housing to visit Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon Dunes,
Oregon.
Discussion:
The Assistant City Manager for Redevelopment ("ACM") and the Director of
Redevelopment/Housing will be reviewing a representative project of Kemper Sports at Bandon
Dunes. The Bandon Dunes Golf Resort includes 3 public golf courses and a resort hotel. It is
marketed as a golfer's getaway providing a different approach to the development purpose of a
hotel at a golf resort. This resort and the layout of the facilities will provide insight into future
opportunities for the City's course, Desert Willow.
The ACM will be substituting his previously approved ULI conference out-of-state travel budget
for this out-of-state travel expense, therefore not incurring any additional expense on his part.
The Director of Redevelopment/Housing does not have out-of-state travel scheduled.
All travel expenses for both individuals combined will be less than $3,000 and funds are
available in Account No. 851-4195-466-3120.
Staff is recommending the minute motion action.
