Measure G is a one-cent sales tax approved by Palm Desert voters in November 2024 to provide ongoing funding for
essential city services through the City’s General Fund. The tax went into effect on April 1, 2025, and is expected to
generate revenue that will support vital community priorities such as public safety, infrastructure improvements,
street and facility maintenance, and other locally funded services. Sales tax revenue is collected by the State of
California and distributed to cities on a quarterly basis. Importantly, 100% of the funds generated by Measure G will
go directly to the City of Palm Desert to be reinvested in the community. To ensure transparency and accountability,
this report on Measure G revenue will be presented to the City’s Finance Committee each quarter for review.
