Palm Desert residency is required to serve on a board, commission, or committee, but non-residents may be invited to provide particular expertise. Appointees may be subject to other requirements as outlined in the Palm Desert Municipal Code. ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMISSION This commission reviews the building architecture and landscape design of all commercial and residential development and modifications to assure compatibility with the City's objectives and policies. The Commission consists of seven (7) members appointed by the City Council. The Subcommittee makes recommendations to the Coachella Valley Conservation Commission (CVCC), the agency responsible for implementing the CVMSHCP. It shall be composed of seven (7) members appointed by the City Council. The members shall include two members of the business community, two community members (one of which will have lived homelessness experience), one member at-large, the chair of the Public Safety Committee, and the chair of the Housing Commission or their designees appointed annually.
