Description
Community Forums: Jan. 15 and Feb. 12
Discuss transition, criteria, process and mapping tools
Two Initial Hearings: Feb. 13 and 27
Held prior to release of draft maps.
Education and to solicit input on the communities in the District.
Initial Map Deadline: Friday, Feb. 28
Last day for residents to submit initial draft maps.
Release Draft Maps: March 5
Maps must be posted online at least 7 days prior to 3rd hearing.
Draft Map Hearing: March 12
First of two Council hearings to discuss and revise the draft maps and to discuss the election sequence.
Final Map Deadline: Friday, March 13
Last day for residents to submit maps for Council consideration
Maps Posted: March 19th
Maps must be posted online at least 7 days prior to 4th hearing.
Map Hearing: March 26
Second of two Council hearings to discuss and select a map and to discuss and select the election sequence. Introduction of ordinance.
Final Adoption: April 16
Fifth hearing and second reading of ordinance.

City agreed to implement a two-district solution, with Ranked Choice Voting
One center-City district elects one Councilmember every four years, starting in 2020
The rest of the City is in a second district that elects four Councilmembers (two each election year)
